Our Choirs

The Prospect Choir Department features 4 daytime choirs and 5 after-school co-curricular A Cappella groups. Each group performs a variety of concerts throughout the year. Our musical styles range from early Renaissance (The Madrigal Singers) to modern pop music and everything in between. Choir and A Cappella are a 2 semester class.

Freshmen Choir (Beginning Mixed Choir)
This choir is made up of all freshmen singers who are in their 1st year at Prospect. This course concentrates on vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory and music history. 

Treble Choir (Treble Choir)
This choir is made up of all female singers who are in 10th-12th grade. This course concentrates on vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory, music history and more advanced vocal harmony.

Honors Choir (Advanced Mixed Choir)
This choir is made up of 10th-12th grade males and 11th-12th grade females. This course concentrates on vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory, music history and more advanced vocal harmony and recordings.

The Madrigals/Knight Voices (Vocal Ensemble 2)
This choir is by audition only for 11th-12th grade singers. This group of singers often travel around the community singing during the holiday season and host a Madrigal Dinner.  Second semester these singers perform a variety of musical styles including Vocal Jazz, Chamber Music and A Cappella.
